STM, please write Tom

City / Dates / Approximate cost

Tom Langley leaves June 5 for 7 weeks of short term mission work. He will be in three cities in Romania: Cluj, Bucharest, and Oradea (the city where he was a missionary several years.) He also plans to stop in Debrecen, Hungary, and hopes to visit the Budapest church.

  • Oradea, Romania (June/July) 2wks = $2000

  • Cluj, Romania (June/July) 2 wks = $2300

  • Targu Mures, Romania (April/May) 2 wks = $2500

  • Sibiu, Romania (Spring) 2014 2 wks = $2500

  • Arad, Romania (July) 2 wks = $2300

  • Debrecen, Hungary (July/Aug) 2 wks = $3500

  • Fier, Albania (July/Aug) 6 wks = $2700 (3 teams)

  • Tirana, Albania (July/Aug) 2 wks = $2700

  • Korce, Albania (July/Aug) 2 wks = $2700

  • Verazdin, Croatia (April/Aug) 2 wks = $2700

  • Guatemala City, Guatemala (July/Aug) 2 wks = $1700

  • Jinotega, Nicaragua (July ?) 2 wks = $1700

  • Nicolaev, Ukraine (?) June/July) 2 wks = $2700

Note: 2 weeks is the minimum time one must commit to teach. Additional weeks at the same site will only increase the approximate cost by 100 to 400 dollars each additional week depending on the site. The largest single expense is the air fare.

WEI Teacher needs follow. It’s still very early, so no firm teacher commitments with the exception of Fier, Albania.  Please contact me anytime to enquire about these mission efforts: Tom Langley weimaryville@aol.com, 865-803-2909

Montenegro Is Calling -- a fulltime missionary is needed. The Internet teaching program registers students from Montenegro almost daily.

Debrecen, Hungary is Calling - a fulltime missionary is needed for the next 5 years. Housing is available at only the cost of utilities. A church facility in the downtown district is in place. WEI students continue and need a teaching missionary. Students from 2013 are available and presently studying. New students continue to arrive daily.

WELCOME!

If you have any questions, comments, changes, or suggestions please contact me. If you wish to teach at one of these sites please let me know.

At this time teachers and teaching teams ARE committed to these mission sites. STM teams are always forming for the next summer season.

God bless,

Tom Langley (President, World English Institute)

For information, contact Tom at weimaryville@aol.com.

Students will be abundant in any of these locations!

These summer missions when complete will need follow-up teachers in all areas. If you can go 3 weeks or longer at any time, just go!

Cost, travel, inoculations, materials to carry with you, etc. are described in the section below for most of these missions.

Mission Committee
"Help in planning a ST Trip this year!"

Ask Tom

IF YOU CAN GO FOR TWO OR MORE WEEKS, WE NEED YOU!!

We expect for 2014, in Albania, the plan will be similar to previous years -- SEVEN TEACHERS at a time. Some teachers schedules will only permit them to teach during the early weeks, some only the latter weeks. Others can be flexible in their scheduling. It is this combination that makes this type of planning and teaching possible. The minimum time for teaching is two weeks. Three or four weeks is better as it permits you longer to develop a relationship with your students.

It takes six weeks to cover lessons 1 - 21, Genesis through Acts.

THINGS TO CONSIDER in planning for short term teaching include the following:

1) An early decision is very helpful. The cost of the airline ticket and easier airline routing can be optimized with an early decision. It is most desirable if a decision can be reached by mid-January

2) What length of time can you stay? You must have a minimum of two weeks to justify (physically and emotionally) your making the trip. Three or four weeks is much better for you and the student if you can arrange the time. The ideal time period is six weeks, this will enable you to take the students completely through the basic studies and probably complete the first advanced Bible book.

3) Can you be flexible in the calendar weeks that you go? If you can be flexible, it will make it easier to schedule you in front of or behind a teacher who cannot be flexible.

4) What is the approximate cost of the trip? Bear in mind that advance planning and early commitment can make a difference in airline cost.

IF YOU HAVE INTEREST IN GOING WITH US FOR EITHER OF THESE SHORT TERM MISSION TRIPS

WEI Short-Term
Mission Statement

TO TEACH
the Bible
using WEI
Instructional
material...

TO BUILD
faith in God...

TO LEAD
the student
to Jesus Christ
and...

TO ENCOURAGE
and teach the local mission church members.

DO NOT MAKE ANY AIRLINE RESERVATIONS...

until you have been approved as a teacher and you have suggested travel dates confirmed by our office. World English Institute will coordinate travel dates to help ensure that you have a room in which to sleep when you arrive at your destination..

WHY ARE SPECIFIC TRAVEL DAYS SO SIGNIFICANT?

Generally we rent apartments or hotel rooms where the teachers can live. We do not want teachers to arrive before the space is ready. We have to schedule the teachers back-to-back. Most of the time a follow-up teacher will be needing the room on the same day that the previous teacher is leaving. In our planning we will have one teacher leaving the airport at the same time that their replacement teacher is arriving at the airport.

If it is not possible to meet the desired dates we will have you slide a day later rather than have you arrive a day earlier. We want to prevent situations where one person’s lack of planning becomes a problem for several other people.
With your cooperation we will help make this a very spiritually rewarding experience.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GOING IN THE SUMMER OR FALL  PLEASE LET US KNOW AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
